Buxton Antique & Art Fair: A Guide to the Autumn 2026 Fair
The Buxton Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair returns to the beautiful Pavilion Gardens in Buxton this September, bringing together more than 40 specialist antique and fine art dealers from across the UK.
Taking place from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th September 2026, the autumn edition offers collectors, interior designers, decorators and antique enthusiasts the opportunity to discover an eclectic selection of antiques, fine art and decorative pieces, with prices ranging from under £50 to more than £50,000.
A Historic Antiques Fair in the Heart of Buxton
Set in the heart of the Peak District, Buxton has long been an important destination for antiques and art lovers. The Buxton fair has been attracting collectors from across the Midlands and the North of England for more than 60 years and is recognised as the UK's longest-running art and antiques fair.
The fair takes place within the impressive Octagon at Pavilion Gardens, a fitting setting for an event that brings together such a diverse selection of historic and contemporary pieces.
This year's autumn event is particularly notable as it is the second edition of the autumn fair, following the success of the spring event. It provides another opportunity for both established collectors and newcomers to explore a carefully selected group of specialist dealers.
What Can You Find at the Buxton Fair?
One of the attractions of the Buxton fair is the sheer variety of objects on offer. Visitors can expect to find everything from traditional period furniture and fine paintings to jewellery, silver, glass and decorative pieces.
Specialist areas represented at this year's fair include:
- 19th and early 20th-century English furniture and accessories
- Modern British and contemporary art
- Art Nouveau and Art Deco glass and sculpture
- Silver and jewellery
- Antiquarian maps, prints and engravings
- Ceramics and porcelain
- Oriental rugs and nomadic textiles
- Country house and decorative interiors
- Clocks and watches
- Garden and architectural pieces
- Old Master drawings
- Collectable and unusual decorative objects
The fair also has a strong selection of decorative arts, including 20th-century furniture, mirrors, garden accessories, country house pieces and statuary, making it particularly appealing to interior designers and decorators looking for distinctive pieces.
Exhibitors at the 2026 Buxton Antique & Art Fair
The autumn fair features an impressive selection of specialist dealers, with each bringing their own area of expertise.
Among this year's exhibitors are Antilia Arts UK, specialising in 19th-century English, French and Italian pieces; Bowland Antiques, with antique silver and Victorian and Georgian porcelain; and Breckland Antiques, specialists in the Arts and Crafts movement.
Fine art is also strongly represented. Art Haus NY will showcase modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture and prints, while Granta Fine Art specialises in modern British paintings and drawings. Mark Rowles Fine Art will bring 19th- and 20th-century paintings alongside contemporary bronzes, while Sharpe Fine Art – Pall Mall specialises in 20th-century Modern British art and post-war graphics.
For jewellery and silver collectors, exhibitors include Billy Rae Fine and Antiques Jewellery, Freya Hart, Plaza, Shapiro & Co and Stephen Kalms Antiques. Visitors interested in glass can explore the collections of Glass of All Ages and Solo Antiques, the latter specialising in Art Nouveau and Art Deco glass and sculpture.
There are also plenty of opportunities for collectors looking for something a little different. Frodsham Clocks specialises in 18th- and 19th-century mantel and carriage clocks, J Dickinson offers antiquarian maps and engravings, Richard Glass specialises in Old Master drawings and engravings, and Watches of Lancashire brings a selection of vintage watches.
With exhibitors covering such a broad range of collecting interests, the fair offers the chance to discover everything from important works of art and fine jewellery to unusual decorative objects and quirky antiques.
A Fair for Collectors and Interior Designers
While the Buxton fair has a strong reputation among traditional antique collectors, its increasingly diverse range of decorative dealers means it also appeals to a new generation of buyers.
The combination of period furniture, contemporary art, decorative objects and architectural pieces makes the fair particularly interesting for interior designers and decorators. Whether you're searching for a statement piece, something to complete a particular room or simply enjoy browsing antiques, there is plenty to discover.
The range of prices also makes the fair accessible to different types of buyers, with pieces available from less than £50 through to important items valued at more than £50,000.

Meeting the Dealers at Buxton
We'll be visiting the Buxton fair on Friday to meet with antique dealers, catch up with familiar faces and discover some of the exceptional pieces being brought to the event.
Antique fairs remain an important part of the trade, offering dealers the opportunity to meet new customers, build relationships and showcase their latest acquisitions. For visitors, they provide the opportunity to speak directly with knowledgeable specialists and discover pieces that may never appear in a traditional shop.
For dealers, however, the work doesn't stop when the fair ends. Making sure that visitors can continue to discover your stock afterwards is an important part of converting interest at a fair into future enquiries and sales.
If you're an antique dealer looking for ways to make the most of the customers you meet at fairs, take a look at our article on how to turn fair visitors into paying customers with our mobile app. It explores how a mobile presence can help dealers stay connected with potential customers after they've left your stand.
Looking Forward to Buxton
With more than 40 specialist dealers, a wide range of collecting categories and the beautiful setting of Pavilion Gardens, the Autumn Buxton Decorative, Antiques & Art Fair promises to be an excellent opportunity to discover new pieces and meet dealers from across the UK.
