DS Decorative Periods is a family run business based in Essex and is run by Daniel and Bonnie. They offer an eclectic mix of decorative antiques and vintage items which they handpick themselves. The rules for what they buy are simple; they only buy items they love whether that be because of their look, patination, quirkiness, or shear beauty and decorativeness.

I caught up with Daniel at his barn in Essex to find out what made him give up his previous career to become an antiques dealer, what he loves about it, his favourite items, and how he's used a website to grow his business online.

He also tells us a really interesting story about an item which survived being put in a skip after the building it was in was bombed during the London Blitz in WW2.
