Hares Fur

Hares Fur are UK based dealers in Scandinavian design focused on providing their customers with high quality, original, design-led Nordic items in glass, ceramics, metalware (mostly bronze or silver), jewellery and art. Along with her husband, Kevin, they have been collectors of such items for about 20 years and have traded since 2018 both at antiques fairs and online. We source most of our items directly from the Nordic countries and they sell worldwide

They take the name Haresfur from the famous layered matt glaze that is often found on Scandinavian studio ceramics which has the look of wet animal fur. Their focus is on Scandinavian items from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland from the second half of the Twentieth Century as that is the period that these Nordic countries had the biggest influence on international style and design.  They helped to shape the modernist style that became typical in the mid-century period with its sleek designs, freeform shapes and unadorned surfaces.
